The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puupaa ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Puupaa connects with a body shot that sends Carter's belly button to the back.
Puupaa throws an overhand right that lands on Carter's shoulder, as Carter tries to avoid the shot.
Carter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Carter takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Carter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A big left from Puupaa misses.
Carter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Puupaa jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Pekka Puupaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Puupaa.
Puupaa throws a body punch but Carter moves out of range.
Carter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Puupaa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Puupaa showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.

Carter throws a jab when Puupaa was well out of range.
Puupaa misses the shot to the body.
Puupaa scores with a sloppy right hand. Carter should have avoided that one.
Puupaa connects with a single shot there.
Puupaa throws a shot to the body.
Carter takes a jab right on the kisser.
Puupaa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Carter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A jab from Carter misses.
Carter drops his hands momentarily and Puupaa takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Puupaa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Puupaa thows a left - swing and a miss!
Puupaa scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Puupaa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carter throws out the jab.
Carter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Carter looks to land a right hand but Puupaa moved out of range.
Puupaa dodges the punch combination from Carter.
Puupaa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Puupaa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Puupaa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Carter moves forwards but Puupaa connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Pekka Puupaa has been cut.

Carter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Puupaa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carter is in Puupaa's guard.
Puupaa looks winded!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carter works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Carter moves into full mount! Puupaa won't be happy about that!
Carter is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Puupaa goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Carter!
