PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nils Nyborg Hojer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Indestructible. Nils Nyborg Hojer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hojer tries to clinch up but Clayton circles away and keeps his distance.
Clayton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hojer needs to keep his hands up - Clayton had a free shot at his head there.
Clayton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hojer is out of range and Clayton settles back down.
Clayton thows a left - swing and a miss!
Clayton misses with a low kick.
Hojer looks for the body kick but Clayton saw that one coming.
Hojer shoots in looking for a takedown but Clayton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hojer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hojer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Clayton.

Hojer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clayton quickly recovers to half guard.

Hojer is nestled in close to Clayton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hojer goes for an armbar but Clayton turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Clayton.

Clayton wants to get up but he can't break Hojer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hojer wants to sweep here but Clayton controlling him for the moment.

Hojer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clayton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clayton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clayton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hojer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clayton has managed to get both his arms back between Hojer's legs - danger averted.

Clayton throws a lazy right hand but Hojer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hojer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hojer loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Clayton scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hojer land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hojer stands and salutes the crowd.
