Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rez Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cortez comes into the arena with Hit Me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears blaring out of the sound system. John Johnson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rez Cortez's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cortez defends it nicely.
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Cortez counters with a crisp one two that drops Johnson! Cortez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Johnson to his feet! Johnson is in big trouble!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cortez tests Johnson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnson throws a lazy uppercut

and Cortez counters with a crisp right hand that drops Johnson! Cortez lets Johnson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Johnson is rocked!

It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Cortez.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Cortez finish him?
Cortez jabs Johnson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Cortez.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses.
Rez Cortez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Johnson.
Cortez misses with a few strikes there.
Cortez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cortez scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson looks winded!

Oooooh!!! Cortez has knocked Johnson down with a huge combo! Cortez steps away and waves a wobbly Johnson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Cortez lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Johnson head around and knocks him out cold! Cortez hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
