The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones wants to clinch up but Cotes keeps it at a distance.
Cotes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nice takedown defense from Cotes. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
The crowd cheers as Cotes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jones doesn't seem phased though.

Jones pushes Cotes up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cotes smiles and moves away.
Andrei Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Cotes slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
