PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Materson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes into the arena with Japanese National Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Mike Materson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Materson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lee jumps guard and drags Materson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Lee scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.

Materson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lee napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Materson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lee has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Materson but great work by Lee.

Materson wants to get back to his feet but Lee drags him back down.
Materson is looking for a sweep.

Lee stands up and we're back to a striking position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Materson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.

Materson wants the takedown. Lee is fighting it off but Materson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lee's guard against the cage.
