Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reeves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Silva!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva blocks a head kick by Reeves.
Silva fails to land the takedown.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reeves tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reeves to the ground. Reeves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A head kick from Reeves lands but Silva takes it in his stride.
Reeves throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease.
Good leg kick by Reeves there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Reeves delivers a nice body kick.
Reeves tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reeves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reeves defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.
David Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Silva.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reeves works Silva's body with a nice hook.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reeves as he jumps to the side.

Reeves clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Reeves.

Reeves drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reeves is on top in guard.
Reeves tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reeves controls the pace.

Reeves decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reeves as he avoids it easily.

Reeves tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reeves drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Reeves successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reeves working for a triangle but Silva defends it easily.
Reeves trying to strike off his back.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reeves has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Reeves's legs - danger averted.
Reeves looking for a sweep. Not yet Reeves, not yet.

Reeves manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Reeves content just to control the position here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Reeves moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Reeves throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Reeves sprawls well.
Reeves displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.

Reeves takes the fight into the clinch.
Silva is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Reeves to keep the fight standing.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Reeves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silva wants to stand up but Reeves is controlling him.
Reeves is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Reeves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Reeves stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because David Reeves wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Reeves misses with a wild combination.

Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Reeves throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.

Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Reeves shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Reeves wants to take the fight to the mat but Silva manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Reeves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reeves gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reeves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.
Reeves is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reeves manages to avoid it.
Reeves bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Silva's head.

Reeves has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Silva after a bit of a struggle.

Reeves has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reeves is defending well for now.

Silva is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Reeves is keeping busy.

Reeves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reeves pushes Silva away with a front kick.
Reeves takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reeves manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head kick misses from Reeves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Samuel Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
David Reeves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
David Reeves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
