No joy there for Acardi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Richardson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Acardi circles away.
Jesse Acardi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A right-left combo lands from Acardi.
Richardson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Acardi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Richardson.

Richardson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Acardi tries to avoid it but Richardson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Acardi to the ground. Acardi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Richardson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Acardi won't be happy with that.

Richardson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Richardson is looking to take a break and control but Acardi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Acardi is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Richardson is working to tighten is grip on Acardi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Acardi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Richardson is really squeezing tight and eventually Acardi passes out! Richardson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
