Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gay Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tug Boat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gay Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tug Boat!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boat avoids the head kick by Barr.

Barr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Boat working a defensive guard here.
Barr looking to sit in guard and control but Boat gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boat postures up.

Barr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Barr looking for a sweep. Not yet Barr, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boat lands a couple of digs.

Boat in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Boat is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Barr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boat gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boat trying to control but Barr is working from the bottom.
Boat landing with the ground and pound.

Boat has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boat connects with a couple of short punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boat is in close to Barr's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Boat working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Boat works over Barr with some ground and pound from guard.
Boat engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Barr looking for a guillotine here but Boat defends easily.
Barr is breathing heavily.
Boat scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Boat wants to control from the top but Barr keeps moving.

Boat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boat lands a couple of elbows.
Barr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boat is in close to Barr's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Boat working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Barr's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boat stands up over Barr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boat's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


Barr is rocked!
Barr can't keep his opponent in guard - Boat advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Barr is looking for a sweep. Boat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boat stalling away here and it's allowed Barr to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boat distracts Barr with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Boat pushes down on Barr's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Boat prevents Barr from improving his position.
Nice strikes from Boat there.
Boat lands strikes from half guard.
Boat is nestled in close to Barr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Oh Barr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Boat lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Barr quite badly. Barr pulls Boat in close trying to recover. Boat postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Barr on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Barr doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tug Boat!
