Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Wahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Hardin had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Mike Hardin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to George Wahl 's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin scores with a head kick. Wahl tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like George Wahl has been cut.
Wahl fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wahl is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hardin's half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hardin is not content to let Wahl control the position.

Wahl connects with an inside leg kick.
Hardin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wahl checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Wahl fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hardin, pushing him back against the cage.

Wahl 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wahl shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wahl in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Wahl might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Wahl .
Wahl dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hardin. That did some damage!

Wahl drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hardin is trying to control the position but Wahl postures up.
Wahl is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wahl gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wahl is trying to pull guard but Hardin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hardin tries to score a body lock takedown but Wahl shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Wahl content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Wahl escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wahl misses with the combination.

Wahl tries to clinch up but Hardin circles away and keeps his distance.
Wahl throws a series of punches but Hardin avoids them all with ease.
Hardin moves out of range of the body kick.

Wahl fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hardin to the ground. Wahl is now in Hardin's guard.
Hardin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wahl !

Wahl is desperately trying to improve his position but Hardin has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hardin is working for a guillotine from mount but Wahl frees his head quite easily.

Wahl closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wahl seems to be looking for submissions.
Hardin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wahl wants to work for an arm triangle but Hardin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hardin is trying to maintain the position but Wahl is very close to passing his half guard.
Wahl really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wahl wants to stand up but Hardin is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wahl thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hardin throws a leg kick but Wahl sees it coming and moves out of range.

Hardin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Wahl jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hardin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hardin and Wahl has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Wahl manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hardin on his heels. He'll look to pass Hardin's guard now, I'm sure.
Wahl throws an elbow that misses. Hardin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wahl 's guard. Nice move by Hardin!
Hardin wants to control from the top but Wahl keeps moving.

Hardin gets to mount! Wahl was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Wahl is looking to get to half guard.

Hardin is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Wahl is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Wahl flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hardin anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Wahl and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hardin slips an arm under Wahl chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hardin has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hardin is squeezing on Wahl like an anaconda would it's prey. Wahl fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
