The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Glover decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Van Damme wants to clinch.
Van Damme's jab looks to have found its range, popping Glover under the eye.

Glover gets caught napping as Van Damme dives in and scores a takedown. Glover manages to retain guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Glover is on top in guard.

Glover passes Van Damme's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Glover postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Van Damme to stand up.
Glover's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Van Damme connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Glover scrambles back to his feet.
Glover looks for a takedown but Van Damme sprawls well.

and Glover counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Van Damme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Glover on the ground.
Glover thows a huge punch but Van Damme dodges it nicely.
Glover winds up and cracks Van Damme with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Damme tries to roll over but Glover keeps him under control.
Glover looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Van Damme with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
