And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogalewski gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ryder ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Ryder is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rogalewski defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogalewski wants to free his trapped foot but Ryder is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ryder looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rogalewski is taking a breather. Ryder says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Rogalewski wants to pass to mount but Ryder is defending the position.

Ryder manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rogalewski's best efforts.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Damian Rogalewski.

Rogalewski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ryder's guard.
Rogalewski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ryder swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rogalewski cracks Ryder with a solid left hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rogalewski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rogalewski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Damian Rogalewski will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryder is breathing heavily.
Rogalewski works his way into side control.
Damian Rogalewski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rogalewski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ryder will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Ryder is looking to regain half guard here but Rogalewski keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Damian Rogalewski.
Nice takedown defense from Ryder. No joy for Rogalewski on that attempt.
Ryder misses with a head kick.
Rogalewski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Rogalewski. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ryder lands a head kick. Rogalewski smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rogalewski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Damian Rogalewski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryder throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Rogalewski's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ryder dives in looking to finish as Rogalewski flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ryder's strikes! Ryder is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Rogalewski's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Rogalewski was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
