Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasqz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasqz comes to the cage accompanied by The Champ is Here. Cain Velasqz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Velasqz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasqz connects with a solid leg kick.
Savage walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Savage throws the kick towards the body but Velasqz avoids it.
Velasqz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Velasqz misses with a hook
and Velasqz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Savage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Velasqz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Velasqz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Velasqz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Savage sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Savage misses with a body shot
and Velasqz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Velasqz avoids the head kick by Savage.
Velasqz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Velasqz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Savage sprawls well. Savage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Velasqz gets slowly back to his feet.
Savage throws a body punch but Velasqz moves out of range.
Velasqz throws a lazy right hand but Savage sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Savage scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Velasqz doesn't seem bothered though.
Velasqz throws a low kick but Savage avoids it.
Savage throws a good cross that connects.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big left from Savage misses.
Savage throws a leg kick but Velasqz sees it coming and moves out of range.
Savage lands a head shot.
Velasqz lands a slapping body shot.
Velasqz throws a front kick aimed at Savage's knee but Savage avoids it well.
Velasqz walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Savage checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Velasqz has his takedown stuffed
and Savage connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Savage goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Savage swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Savage pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Savage scores with a jab to the body.
Savage swings for the body but Velasqz moves out of range.
Savage dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Savage misses with a wild body shot.
Savage moves out of range of the strikes.

Savage changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Velasqz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Savage works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Savage scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Velasqz to see if he's OK.
Savage controls the position.
Velasqz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Savage is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Savage cracks Velasqz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Savage is looking to take a break and control but Velasqz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Savage might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Velasqz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Savage works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Savage creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velasqz tries to escape but Savage is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Velasqz is trying to get back to half guard.
Savage taking a breather here.
Let's hope that Savage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Savage blocks the strikes from Velasqz.
Savage lands a few punches from side control.
Velasqz on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Savage grinds an elbow into Velasqz's temple.
Savage is looking to take a break and control but Velasqz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Velasqz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Velasqz stops Savage from passing to mount.
Savage works to advance to full mount. Velasqz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Velasqz is working to get back to half guard.
Velasqz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


Velasqz is rocked!
Savage postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Velasqz badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Savage around the waist but Savage pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Savage is the winner by TKO! Savage jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy Savage!
A relieved looking Randy Savage thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
