PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swain comes to the cage accompanied by They Mad - Philly Swain. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Curtis Walker!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker moves to clinch but Swain breaks away
and Swain counters with a stiff right hand.
Swain connects with a solid leg kick.
Walker is looking to clinch.
Walker checks the leg kick nicely there.
Swain misses the shot to the body.

Swain really is a fat lump.
Swain circles away from the clinch attempt.
Swain throws a leg kick that misses.
Swain fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Swain fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walker has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Walker throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Swain blocks it with crossed arms.

Swain is pressed up against the cage. Walker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Swain down to the mat. Swain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Swain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Swain cracks Walker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Walker tightens his grip and picks Swain up, before dumping him to the ground. Swain manages to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Walker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Swain wants to control but Walker passes easily into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Swain will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Walker has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Swain after a bit of a struggle.

Walker ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Walker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker moves in looking to clinch but Swain pushes him off.
Curtis Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Swain looks to throw the jab but Walker is out of range.

Walker throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Swain stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Walker follows into mount!


It looks like Billy Swain has been cut.
Swain on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Swain tries to get out of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Walker quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Walker but it's paid off an Swain is forced to tap! Nice work by Walker.
