PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Ballinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and All Inn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ballinger comes to the cage accompanied by A Scottish Soldier by Andy Stewart. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Ballinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, All Inn!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ballinger clinches up against the cage.
Ballinger lands an elbow inside that Inn shrugs off.
Ballinger pushes Inn back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Inn goes for a takedown attempt but Ballinger pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ballinger throws a lazy right hand but Inn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Inn slips under a jab.
Ballinger scores with a shot to the body.
Inn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Inn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Inn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ballinger doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Inn.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Inn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Inn trying to mount his opponent but Ballinger defends it.
Ballinger slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Inn cracks Ballinger with a solid left hand.
Inn tries to free his leg and advance position but Ballinger is retaining full guard.
Inn advances position into side control!
Ballinger manages to work his way to half guard, despite Inn's best efforts.
Inn is thwarting Ballinger's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Inn prevents Ballinger from improving his position.
Inn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Inn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ballinger gets back to half guard.
Ballinger missing with punches from the bottom.
Inn uses his free foot to push down on Ballinger's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ballinger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ballinger wants to hold on but Inn pushes him away.
Ballinger tries to reverse the position but Inn maintains control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Inn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ballinger manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ballinger manages to work his way to half guard, despite Inn's best efforts.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Inn in particular looking to stall.
Inn is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ballinger!
Ballinger really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Inn pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Ballinger is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inn looking to finish Ballinger with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ballinger!
Inn looking to control but Ballinger is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ballinger is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Inn has taken his back!
Inn has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Ballinger.

Inn is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Well, with Inn on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Ballinger is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Inn is persistently looking for the submission but Ballinger is defending it well.
Ballinger tries to escape but Inn has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Inn gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Inn is hanging on to Ballinger's back as he tries to escape.
Ballinger is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ballinger trying to control the hands but Inn won't let him.

Inn looking for the choke from the back.
Ballinger breaks Inn's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ballinger advances position into side control!
Inn is not content to let Ballinger control the position.
Inn sneaks back into half guard.
Ballinger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Inn on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ballinger is trying to control. Inn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ballinger decides to stand and escape the position.
Ryan Ballinger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ballinger pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

All Inn dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Inn scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Inn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ballinger has escaped the position, nice work there.

Inn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ballinger knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ballinger tries to bench press Inn off him but Inn keeps the position.

Inn tries for a kimura but Ballinger is defending well.

Inn is working to tighten is grip on Ballinger's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ballinger has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Inn is really squeezing tight and eventually Ballinger passes out! Inn breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). All Inn!
All Inn tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
