PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kren Litzke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monkey's entrance music is "Club Foot" by Kasabian. A fine choice. Litzke has chosen Feuer Frei by Rammstein as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crazy Monkey!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kren Litzke!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Litzke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Litzke is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monkey is surviving well by controlling Litzke's body position as best he can.

Litzke is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Monkey has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Litzke has eaten all the pies!
Litzke seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Monkey is holding on tight.
Monkey wants to get back to his feet.

Litzke wants to finish this one by submission but Monkey is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Litzke.
Monkey is trying to escape the mount.

Litzke goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Monkey turns into him and now he's in Litzke's guard.

Litzke has his foot on Monkey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monkey works his way back into a safe position though.

Monkey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Monkey is looking to stand up but Litzke won't let him.

Monkey wants to get up but he can't break Litzke's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Monkey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Litzke throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Monkey escapes and throws Litzke's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Monkey decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Monkey gets caught flat footed, as Litzke shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Litzke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Litzke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Monkey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Litzke on the ground.

Litzke drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Monkey dives on top into guard.

Monkey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Litzke is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Litzke tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Litzke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Litzke is trying to work for a kimura but Monkey is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Litzke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kren Litzke dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Monkey with a poor takedown

and Litzke counters with a shoot takedown. Monkey fights it but they end up in guard.

Litzke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Litzke pushes down on Monkey's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Litzke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Monkey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Litzke.
Monkey won't allow Litzke to pass to mount.
Litzke is breathing heavily.
Monkey is trying to maintain the position but Litzke is very close to passing his half guard.

Monkey is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Litzke pulls his head out easily.

Kren Litzke has got the better of the ground game so far.

Litzke is working for a submission of some sort.

Litzke is looking for a kimura but Monkey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Litzke to get the leverage.
Monkey is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Litzke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Litzke drops back looking for a leg! Monkey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monkey manages to kick Litzke off! Litzke jumps back into Monkey's guard.
Monkey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Litzke passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Litzke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Monkey has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Litzke tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Litzke has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Litzke passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Monkey!
Litzke forces the positional change into back control.

Monkey defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Litzke's arms.

Litzke is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Monkey defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Litzke has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Monkey! Can he survive? No! He's out! Litzke gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kren Litzke! Kren Litzke retains his super heavyweight title!
