PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rik Spahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Laskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spahn kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Slap my elbow. Rik Spahn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jerry Laskey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rik Spahn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Laskey!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laskey clinches up against the cage.
Spahn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Laskey walks away with a smile on his face. Spahn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Spahn shoots in looking for a takedown. Laskey tries to sprawl out of it but Spahn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Laskey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Spahn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rik Spahn will probably get the nod.
That's time! Spahn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
