Duran comes into the arena with Hungry like the wolf blaring out of the sound system. Cirilo Galiei has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Duran Duran's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duran Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cirilo Galiei!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galiei tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Duran counters with a low kick, right behind Galiei 's knee.
Galiei looks to clinch

and Duran counters by clinching up.
Duran changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Galiei fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Galiei looks to clinch
and Duran counters with a nice low kick that buckles Galiei's knee momentarily.
Galiei moves to clinch but Duran breaks away
and Duran counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Duran throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Galiei sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Galiei has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Duran.

Galiei moves to clinch but Duran breaks away
and Duran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Duran counters with an outside leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Duran.
Galiei closes the distance looking to clinch

and Duran holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Duran's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Duran misses with the combination.
Galiei tries to clinch but Duran moves away
and Duran makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Galiei closes the distance and clinches up with Duran, looking for a takedown. Galiei pushes Duran against the cage but Duran circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Duran counters with a three punch combo that has Galiei backing up. Galiei nods at Duran to acknowledge the strikes.
Duran rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Galiei moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Duran tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Galiei avoids it.

Duran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Duran makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Duran wants to land a leg kick but Galiei is out of range.

and Duran counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Galiei closes the distance looking to clinch
and Duran counters with an inside leg kick.
Galiei tries to clinch but Duran moves away
and Duran counters with a low kick, right behind Galiei 's knee.
Duran jabs Galiei right on the nose. Galiei blinks but takes it well.

Duran throws a series of punches but Galiei moves out of range.
Galiei closes the distance looking to clinch
and Duran counters with a stiff right hand.
Duran lands with a kick to the temple. Galiei shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Duran lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Duran takes a swing at Galiei's ribcage but misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Duran.
Galiei slips a jab from Duran.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duran Duran dominated that round.
That's time! Duran's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Duran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Duran throws a jab when Galiei was well out of range.
Cirilo Galiei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duran misses with a wild body shot.
Galiei moves out of range of the strikes.

Duran has Galiei up against the cage in a clinch.

Duran breaks from the clinch.

Duran moves into the clinch.
Duran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Duran fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Galiei.
Galiei darts in trying to clinch
and Duran counters with a straight right hand.

and Duran counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Galiei thinking.
Duran lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Galiei circles away quickly and effectively.

and Duran counters with an outside leg kick.

Galiei has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Duran after a bit of a struggle.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Galiei's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Galiei moves to clinch but Duran breaks away
and Duran counters with a right hand to the body.
Duran jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Galiei tries to clinch up

and Duran counters by moving into the clinch.

Galiei misses with a body punch.

Duran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Duran counters with a nice uppercut.

and Duran counters by clinching up.

Duran misses with a looping left.
Duran slaps away a takedown attempt from Galiei, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Duran scoring well with a low kick there.
Galiei closes the distance looking to clinch

Duran looks to land a left hand but Galiei moved out of range nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duran's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Galiei bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Galiei shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duran as he avoids it easily.

and Duran counters with a right hand to the body.
Duran's jab looks to have found its range, popping Galiei under the eye.

Duran misses with an uppercut.

letting Duran counter with a right hand.
Duran throws a hook to the side of Galiei's head but Galiei sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Duran Duran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cirilo Galiei.

Duran tries to pull guard but Galiei forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Cirilo Galiei has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Duran Duran is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Duran Duran showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Duran has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Duran Duran decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
