PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Cass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy comes to the cage accompanied by Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe . Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cass fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cass looks for a takedown but Hardy sprawls well.
Hardy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cass circles away quickly and effectively.
Hardy with a hook.
Hardy throws a looping overhand right but Cass ducks down to avoid it.
James Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cass fails with a takedown attempt.
Cass throws a hook to the side of Hardy's head but Hardy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Cass shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hardy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hardy is looking to stand back up but Cass counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hardy.
Hardy looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cass wants to control but Hardy is keeping him busy.
Hardy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hardy has hold of Cass's hands but Cass slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Cass wants to work for an arm triangle but Hardy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hardy is trying to stand up here but Cass is controlling him well.
Cass thows a huge punch but Hardy dodges it nicely.

Cass lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hardy is breathing heavily.
Cass is nestled in close to Hardy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hardy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hardy tries to get out of the position.
Cass prevents Hardy from standing back up.
Cass works his way into full mount!
Cass lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hardy hang on?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hardy is bucking up trying to escape but Cass cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Cass softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Hardy is out cold! Cass jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

In his post fight interview, Jeffrey Cass started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
