Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zach Acton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joseph Bogey!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogey tries for a takedown but Acton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Acton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bogey tries to avoid it but Acton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bogey to the ground. Bogey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Acton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bogey sprawls well initially but Acton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bogey tries to kick Acton off but Acton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bogey tries to get to full guard but Acton has control of the leg.
Bogey is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Acton scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bogey moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acton throws a big right hand that misses.
Acton wants to control from the top but Bogey keeps moving.

Bogey wants to stand and escape but Acton is having none of it.

Acton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Acton wants to work for an arm triangle but Bogey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Acton has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Acton there as he acknowledges the shot.
Bogey wants to clinch.
Bogey throws a right hand that Acton ducks under and follows up with a left that Acton also avoids with ease.
Bogey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Bogey counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bogey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bogey looks to score with a jab to the body but Acton is just out of range.
Bogey throws a right and a left that both miss.
Acton has his takedown stuffed
and Bogey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zach Acton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bogey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Acton manages to avoid it.

Acton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bogey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Acton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bogey keeps working.
Bogey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Acton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bogey wants to control but Acton is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bogey connects with a nice short shot to Acton's temple.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bogey lands a nice short elbow.
Bogey is pressing down on Acton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Acton is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Acton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bogey is fending him off so far but Acton persists. Nope, Bogey circles away and we're back to standing.

and Acton counters with a single leg into guard. Bogey didn't expect that.
Acton wants to pass the guard but Bogey is keeping the position.
Bogey wants to get back to his feet but Acton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Zach Acton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bogey is looking to stand back up but Acton counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bogey.

Acton is looking to advance position but Bogey won't allow it.
Bogey is trying to stand.
Acton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bogey's head.
Bogey is looking for a sweep. Acton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bogey is trying to maintain the position but Acton is very close to passing his half guard.
Acton scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joseph Bogey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bogey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
