Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Magney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magney closes the distance and clinches.
Hill looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Magney tries to break free but Hill pushes him back against the cage.

Magney works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Hill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Magney controls the pace.
Magney passes Hill's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Magney drops an elbow to the side of Hill's head.
Magney looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Magney connects with a nice short shot to Hill's temple.
Magney content to control rather than advance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Magney is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Magney lands a big shot there that rocks Hill but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

It looks like Magney might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Magney has hold of Hill's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hill manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Magney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hill is bucking up trying to escape but Magney cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Magney cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Magney takes Hill's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Hill is in trouble.
Magney lands an elbow to the side of the head.
What can Hill do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Magney is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Hill has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Magney has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Hill taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Magney doesn't care though - he's delighted!
