PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Kliroc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dillon Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ruff ryders' anthem. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, JJ Kliroc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dillon Weber!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weber throws a head kick that misses.
Kliroc throws a left and a right that both miss
and Weber counters with a two punch combo.
Kliroc avoids the head kick by Weber.
Weber swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kliroc fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Weber scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kliroc wants to control but Weber postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kliroc avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Weber.
Weber is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kliroc's shoulder. That is not cool.

Kliroc is looking for a sweep.
Kliroc being controlled for a moment.
Kliroc trying to control but Weber flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Weber is striking from the back but Kliroc escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
Weber stops Kliroc from getting back to his feet.
Weber throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kliroc is trying to control but can't.
Kliroc is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kliroc has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Weber is working away from the top position though.

We're going to have a standup here because JJ Kliroc wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Weber misses with a takedown attempt - Kliroc sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Weber instigates a clinch.

Weber keeps control of Kliroc as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Weber wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Weber is looking to break free of the clinch but Kliroc has double underhooks.

Weber gets control of Kliroc's arms and successfully pulls guard. Weber will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kliroc has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Weber is proving hard to escape from.
Kliroc stops Weber from standing up.
Kliroc tries to free his leg and advance position but Weber is retaining full guard.

Weber keeping moving, preventing Kliroc from controlling successfully.

Weber has his feet on Kliroc's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kliroc closes the distance looking to clinch

and Weber counters by moving into the clinch.
Weber tries to pull guard but Kliroc won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Weber tries to break free but Kliroc pushes him back against the cage.

Kliroc ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kliroc no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dillon Weber dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kliroc prevents a takedown attempt there.
Weber tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kliroc tries to circle away but Weber has him pinned against the cage.
Kliroc wants to get back to striking at distance but Weber won't allow it.

Weber has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kliroc is trying to break the clinch but Weber is controlling him.

JJ Kliroc has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dillon Weber.
Weber looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Weber is looking to break free of the clinch but Kliroc has double underhooks.
Weber has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kliroc after a bit of a struggle.
A frustrated look appears on Weber's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Weber jumps guard and drags Kliroc to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Weber pushes Kliroc off and scrambles back to his feet.

Weber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kliroc circles away quickly and effectively.
Kliroc shoots in for a takedown but Weber shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kliroc tries to close the distance and clinch but Weber swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weber moves in looking to clinch but Kliroc pushes him off.
Kliroc is looking to clinch but Weber is avoiding it.
Kliroc closes the distance looking to clinch

and Weber counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kliroc's guard now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weber slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Weber throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kliroc has momentary wrist control but Weber slips an elbow through the middle.
Kliroc wants to stand but Weber is controlling the position.
Weber sitting in guard here, content to control.

Weber controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dillon Weber.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Weber.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
An inside leg kick from Weber misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dillon Weber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kliroc had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Weber defends it easily.
Kliroc is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kliroc lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

Kliroc is working an open guard so Weber takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Weber misses with a takedown attempt - Kliroc sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kliroc breaks the clinch.
Kliroc dodges the punch combination from Weber.

Weber closes the distance and clinches.
Weber has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kliroc is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kliroc's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Weber takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Weber tries to bum rush Kliroc with a series of wild strikes but Kliroc uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kliroc tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Weber manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Weber stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Weber wants it to stay on the feet.
Weber blocks a low kick nicely.
Weber tries to bum rush Kliroc with a series of wild strikes but Kliroc uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Weber counters with a right hand to the body.

Weber shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kliroc pinned against the cage. Kliroc gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
JJ Kliroc has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dillon Weber.

Weber darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dillon Weber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Weber has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
