Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valera Kamenskiy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mico Pazuh!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenskiy throws out a leg kick but Pazuh moves out of range and Kamenskiy only half commits.

Kamenskiy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pazuh napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Pazuh is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kamenskiy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pazuh keeps working.
Kamenskiy throws an elbow but Pazuh slips to the side and avoids it well.

Kamenskiy is trying to get an arm triangle but Pazuh is defending well.
Kamenskiy wants to control but Pazuh is keeping him busy.

Pazuh is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kamenskiy has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kamenskiy misses with a head shot. Pazuh uses the momentum to regain guard.

Kamenskiy wants to control from the top but Pazuh keeps moving.
Pazuh trying to keep a closed guard but Kamenskiy is proving a slippery customer.
Kamenskiy postures up in Pazuh's guard and throws a big left but Pazuh blocks it.

Pazuh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kamenskiy wants to control from the top but Pazuh keeps moving.

Kamenskiy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kamenskiy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pazuh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kamenskiy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kamenskiy gets to his feet - Pazuh follows without any prompting.
Pazuh takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Pazuh shoots for a takedown but Kamenskiy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pazuh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kamenskiy's half guard.
Kamenskiy is looking to escape.
Kamenskiy is pressing down on Pazuh's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kamenskiy controls Pazuh momentarily but Pazuh frees himself.
Pazuh throwing strikes but missing.
Kamenskiy is pulling down on Pazuh's head to control his posture.
Pazuh makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Kamenskiy has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pazuh off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kamenskiy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kamenskiy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kamenskiy content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kamenskiy looks to land a combination. Pazuh sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kamenskiy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kamenskiy.

Pazuh thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kamenskiy's head.

Pazuh makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kamenskiy is on top in guard.
Pazuh keeping moving, preventing Kamenskiy from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kamenskiy's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kamenskiy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kamenskiy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kamenskiy here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kamenskiy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Pazuh takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kamenskiy staying calm.
Valera Kamenskiy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kamenskiy tries to advance position but instead Pazuh slips a leg back in to half guard.

Kamenskiy thows a huge punch but Pazuh dodges it nicely.

Kamenskiy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pazuh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Kamenskiy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
