Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coke Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Torres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coke Zero!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zero moves into the clinch.
Torres is trying to push Zero away but Zero has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Zero managing to block the knees to the body from Torres.

Zero takes a knee to the side of the body.

Zero successfully pulls guard.
Torres content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Zero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Torres is one step ahead there.
Torres really is a fat lump.
Torres postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Torres postures up in Zero's guard and throws a big left but Zero blocks it.
Torres is looking to stand up but Zero won't let him.

Zero is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Torres is looking to stand up but Zero won't let him.
Torres has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Zero looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Torres content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres throws an elbow that misses. Zero uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Torres's guard. Nice move by Zero!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Zero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Torres's half guard.

Zero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Torres works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Torres wants to get back to his feet but Zero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Coke Zero was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Torres tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zero paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Coke Zero wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Zero moves into the clinch.
Torres tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Zero works on Torres's body with a couple of short punches.
Zero has Torres pressed against the cage, preventing Torres from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Zero jumps guard but Torres stands there with Zero around his waist. Zero gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Zero ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zero no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlos Torres will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight stays on the outside here - Torres looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zero shoots in for a takedown but Torres shows good takedown defense.
