Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick McLoughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lie has chosen we right here as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lie closes the distance looking to clinch

and McLoughlin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lie's guard.
McLoughlin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
McLoughlin is working Lie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
McLoughlin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McLoughlin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McLoughlin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLoughlin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lie wants to control the position but McLoughlin says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McLoughlin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lie for as long as he can get away with.
McLoughlin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
McLoughlin tries to advance to mount but can't.

Lie seems a little lost for a moment, as McLoughlin dominates the positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McLoughlin throws a hook but Lie avoids it easily.
McLoughlin closes the distance and clinches up with Lie, looking for a takedown. McLoughlin pushes Lie against the cage but Lie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lie tries to land a front kick but McLoughlin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A left and a right from Lie both land. Nice combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lie wants to break free but McLoughlin has control.

McLoughlin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McLoughlin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Lie is trying to reverse the position but instead McLoughlin has taken his back - oops!
