PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Faber might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Motörhead - King of Kings. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alonso keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

It looks like Ned Alonso has been cut.
Faber tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Alonso is able to avoid easily.

Alonso throws a series of punches but Faber moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Faber tries to pull guard but Alonso forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Alonso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Faber will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alonso manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Faber on his heels. He'll look to pass Faber's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Faber has his foot on Alonso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alonso works his way back into a safe position though.
