Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcqueen keeps the fight on the outside.
Mcqueen misses with a right hand

and Katarina counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Katarina tries a knee to the head but Mcqueen blocks it.

Mcqueen wants the takedown. Katarina is fighting it off but Mcqueen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Katarina's guard against the cage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mcqueen tries to free his leg and advance position but Katarina is retaining full guard.
Mcqueen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mcqueen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mcqueen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mcqueen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcqueen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mcqueen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Katarina works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mcqueen is pushing down on Katarina's leg trying to pass to half guard. Katarina is fighting to maintain full guard but Mcqueen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mcqueen uses his free foot to push down on Katarina's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Katarina.

Katarina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcqueen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcqueen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Katarina because Mcqueen loaded up on that one.
Mcqueen lands a nice shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Katarina can do anything to dispel that myth.

Katarina is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Mcqueen has control of Katarina's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Katarina regains control of the situation pretty easily.
