The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gangitano circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gangitano counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Gangitano tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Gangitano stalling away here and it's allowed Plimpton to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Gangitano's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Plimpton has his feet on Gangitano's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Plimpton on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Gangitano counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Plimpton!

Plimpton wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gangitano.

Plimpton holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gangitano tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Plimpton is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gangitano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Plimpton looks a forlorn figure.

Randal Plimpton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gangitano fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Plimpton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Plimpton takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Gangitano throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Plimpton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gangitano is in Plimpton's guard.
Gangitano has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gangitano dips to his left and cracks Plimpton with an uppercut!
Gangitano lands a left and a right that send Plimpton crashing to the mat, dazed. Gangitano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Plimpton is rocked!
Gangitano digs a good hook to Plimpton's body.
Jab, jab by Gangitano - just one landing.
Plimpton is still on wobbly legs! Can Gangitano finish him?
Plimpton gets tackled into the cage by Gangitano. Gangitano maintains the clinch.
Plimpton seems to have recovered his senses.

Gangitano pushes Plimpton back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Plimpton tries to land knees in the clinch but Gangitano avoids the damage to the body.
Gangitano is working Plimpton over against the cage.
Gangitano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Plimpton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Gangitano counter with a right hand.
Plimpton tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gangitano, as that shot connected.
Plimpton doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gangitano counters with a thumping low kick.
Alphonse Gangitano is winning the standup battle so far.
Gangitano chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gangitano drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Plimpton right on the button. Plimpton goes down! Gangitano follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Gangitano gets the win via TKO!
