PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miquel Prado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prado comes to the cage accompanied by Top Gun - Highway to the Dangerzone . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madsen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Prado counters with a nice low kick that buckles Madsen's knee momentarily.
Madsen throws an overhand right that lands on Prado's shoulder, as Prado tries to avoid the shot.

Prado gets a clinch.
Prado has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Madsen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Prado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Prado thuds a left hand into Madsen's body.
Madsen swings widly with a right hand
and Prado makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Madsen really felt that one!

Madsen tries to move into range but Prado moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Prado shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Madsen is trying to defend but Prado finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Madsen wants to get back to full guard but Prado has passed into side control.

Prado tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Prado has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Madsen is looking for a sweep.

Prado wants to control but Madsen is keeping him busy.

Prado decides to stand back up. Prado steps back and let's Madsen get back to his feet.

Madsen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Prado counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Prado looking to score a takedown here. Madsen is defending well but Prado drives through and ends up in Madsen's guard.

Prado gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Prado has closed the distance and engaged Madsen in a clinch.
Madsen pushes Prado back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Madsen tries to circle away but Prado has him pinned against the cage.
Madsen lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Madsen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Prado is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Madsen to the mat. Madsen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Prado got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Prado has managed to get both his arms back between Madsen's legs - danger averted.

Madsen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Prado gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Madsen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Prado puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Prado is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Madsen has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prado prevents Madsen from improving his position.
Prado keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Prado lands with a punch from half guard.
Prado is nestled in close to Madsen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Madsen is in trouble now - Prado has advanced to mount!

Madsen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Prado.
Prado shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Madsen sprawls well. Madsen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Prado gets slowly back to his feet.
Madsen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Prado finds it's way round the side to connect with Madsen's head.

Madsen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Madsen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Prados jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Prado counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Madsen pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Madsen looks to land a combination. Prado sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Prado is looking to clinch but Madsen is avoiding it.
Prado throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Prado darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Prado is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Prado pushes down on Madsen's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Prado looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prado has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Madsen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Prado yanks on the arm and Madsen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Prado.
