PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rude's entrance music is Gunslinger. A fine choice. Castle has chosen Afterworld as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Frank Castle enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominic Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Castle!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude checks the leg kick.
Rude tries to move into range but Castle moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rude misses with a straight left.
Rude misses with a few strikes there.
Rude scores with a decent looking hook.
Rude ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Castle moves away.
Rude takes one on the button.
Rude misses with a body shot.
Castle fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rude.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rude!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rude wants to slow Castle down by chopping away at his legs.

Rude misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Castle counters with a thumping low kick.
Rude lands a nice hook to Castle's body. Castle takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Castle throws a hook but Rude blocks it.
Castle steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rude.

Rude pushes Castle away with a front kick.
Rude throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Castle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rude sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rude moves out of range as Castle strikes.
Rude works Castle's body with a nice hook.
Castle misses with a hook. Rude ducked under it nicely.
Castle lands with a nice body punch.
Castle fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rude takes a kick to the side of the head.
Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rude defends it nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rude avoids the head kick by Castle.
Rude is looking to wear down Castle with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Rude ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Castle moves away.
Castle throws a hook but Rude avoids it easily.
Rude thumps Castle with a low kick.

Castle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rude is trying to defend but Castle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rude manages to get to full guard.
Rude keeping moving, preventing Castle from controlling successfully.
Castle looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Castle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rude swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rude being controlled here, momentarily.
Rude can't keep his opponent in guard - Castle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rude is looking to control Castle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rude avoid being mounted?

Castle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rude trying to hold on to Castle's head to control him but Castle postures up.
Castle not doing much here.

Castle is working for a kimura but Rude is defending it quite comfortably.
Rude wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Castle will probably get the nod.
That's time! Rude's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Castle staying out of range there.
Castle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Crunch! Rude slams his shin into Castle's torso.
Rude throws a half hearted mid kick.
Rude fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Castle has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Rude circles away from the clinch attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Rude.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rude looks to score with a jab to the body but Castle is just out of range.
Castle misses with a straight left.
Castle keeps Rude at a distance using the push kick.
A combination from Rude does no damage.
Rude lands a nice looking body shot.
Rude looks to land a left hand but Castle moved out of range nicely.
A swing and a miss from Castle.

Rude fakes the leg kick and cracks Castle in the body.
Rude misses with a low kick.
Rude throws a low kick but Castle moves out of range easily.
Castle takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Castle is breathing heavily.
Castle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Castle swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Castle throws a hook but Rude avoids it easily.
Rude keeps Castle at a distance using the push kick.

Rude connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Castle is looking to clinch but Rude is avoiding it.
Castle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rude's waist but Rude gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castle off to one side.
Rude fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Castle manages to avoid it.
Rude punishes Castle's body with a nice straight punch.
Rude turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Oooooh!!! Rude has knocked Castle down with a huge combo! Rude steps away and waves a wobbly Castle back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Castle is rocked!
Rude tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Castle was well out of range. Poor timing from Rude.
Castle is still on wobbly legs! Can Rude finish him?
Rude throws a nice inside leg kick.
Rude throws a series of punches but Castle moves out of range.
Castle seems to have recovered his senses.
Castle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dominic Rude is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castle throws out a loose jab but Rude uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rude scores with a hook.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Castle crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rude - the referee stops the clock and Castle gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rude. Castle manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rude tries a head kick but it misses.
Dominic Rude is winning the standup battle so far.
Castle is holding his hands too far apart here. Rude throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Castle is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
