Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Rhababer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uzumaki Minato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Rhababer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Uzumaki Minato!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Minato.
Nice sprawl there from Rhababer as Minato shoots in.
Minato throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rhababer tries to clinch but Minato moves out of range.
Rhababer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rhababer wants it to stay on the feet.
Rhababer throws a push kick but Minato slaps the foot to one side.
Minato fails to land the takedown.
Gabriel Rhababer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uzumaki Minato.

and Rhababer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rhababer is controlling the pace.
Minato has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rhababer is working away from the top position though.
Well, if Rhababer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We're going to have a standup here because Gabriel Rhababer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Minato misses with a takedown
and Rhababer counters with a three punch combo that has Minato backing up. Minato nods at Rhababer to acknowledge the strikes.

Minato gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rhababer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Rhababer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Minato's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Minato throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rhababer.

Rhababer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Minato for as long as he can get away with.
Minato is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rhababer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Gabriel Rhababer just wasn't active enough.

Rhababer is taking a breather. Minato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rhababer decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Minato should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rhababer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Minato's guard.

Minato has his foot on Rhababer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rhababer works his way back into a safe position though.

Rhababer stands up and waves to Minato to follow him.
Minato tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rhababer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rhababer darts in and clinches Minato up against the cage.

Rhababer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Minato wants to control for a moment but Rhababer uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Minato is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rhababer wants to control but Minato is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Minato seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rhababer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rhababer is trying to get back to full guard.
Rhababer is trying to control but can't.
Minato wants to take a breather but Rhababer is having none of it.

Rhababer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Minato, up you get!

Rhababer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Minato can do to turn this around?

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Minato can do anything to dispel that myth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Minato that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Rhababer leaves Minato with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Minato fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rhababer avoids it really well and circles away.

Rhababer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rhababer showed some decent athleticism there.
Rhababer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Minato takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Minato is in trouble now - Rhababer has advanced to mount!

Well Rhababer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
