Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Reno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad To the Bone. Nolan Sackett has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Reno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nolan Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reno closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Reno wants to take a breather but Sackett is having none of it.
Sackett slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Reno with a flurry of punches that miss.
Reno loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Reno looking to sit in guard and control but Sackett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Reno keeping moving, preventing Sackett from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sackett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reno looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sackett connects with a couple of short punches.
Reno lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sackett!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sackett is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Reno there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sackett wants to control but Reno is having none of it.
Reno lands a big shot there that rocks Sackett but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Sackett regains half guard.
Reno trying to advance position but Sackett counters by regaining guard.
Reno trying to control but Sackett is working from the bottom.

Reno trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Reno has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Reno trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sackett manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reno wants to hit a switch here but Sackett passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Reno there!
Reno knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sackett on the ground.
Reno is trying to escape the mount.
Reno regains half guard.
Sackett landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Sackett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Reno is looking for a sweep. Sackett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Reno is working hard here to advance position.

Sackett is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Reno to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Reno shrugs it off.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reno tries to reverse the position but Sackett maintains control.

Sackett prevents Reno from getting the reversal.
Sackett is landing with some decent strikes but Reno is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Reno is in all sorts of trouble here.
Reno throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Sackett connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Sackett cracks Reno with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nolan Sackett!
After the fight, Nolan Sackett was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
