The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malloway tries to clinch up but Renko circles away and keeps his distance.
Malloway throws a sloppy head kick and Renko moves out of range easily.
Renko tries to close the distance and clinch but Malloway swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Malloway gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Renko avoids the elbow strike from Malloway, against the cage.

Malloway leaves Renko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Renko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Malloway throws out the jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Malloway enables Renko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Malloway manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Renko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
