The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Rousey catches Alves right on the button with a cross.
Rousey misses with a hook

and Alves counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rousey won't be happy with that.
Rousey managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Alves.
Alves is looking to take a break and control but Rousey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Alves controlling the position from side mount.
Rousey is looking for a sweep.
Rousey wants to get back to his feet.

Alves controls Rousey momentarily but Rousey frees himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Anderson Alves hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Alves uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rousey.
Rousey misses with a right hand
and Alves counters with a nice body shot.
Rousey changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rousey misses with an uppercut.
Rousey slips a jab and a cross from Alves.
Alves ducks right into an uppercut from Rousey.

Alves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alves walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rousey checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Rousey rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alves counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rousey thinking.
Rousey blocks a jab.
Rousey throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rousey lands with a cross.
Alves staying out of range there.
Alves throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rousey sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rousey is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Alves ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alves uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rousey.
Rousey smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Rousey throws a hook to the side of Alves's head but Alves sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Alves misses with a looping left.

Rousey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves slips a jab from Rousey.
Alves walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rousey looks to score with a jab to the body but Alves is just out of range.
Rousey fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Anderson Alves will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Alves is looking to score with low kicks.
Rousey lands a jab to Alves's midsection.
Rousey lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Alves misses with a low kick.
Alves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rousey moves away.
Rousey misses with the combination.
Alves has a takedown stuffed.
Rousey staying out of range there.
Alves fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rousey manages to avoid it.
Rousey lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Alves takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Rousey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alves to the mat! Alves manages to get full guard.
Rousey scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Alves is rocked!

Rousey stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Alves is still on wobbly legs! Can Rousey finish him?
Rousey paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rousey lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Alves falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rousey dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
