Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Dirt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Cena!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirt misses with a takedown attempt

and Cena counters with a takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dirt is trying to get back to half guard.
Cena working away.
Dirt is looking to regain half guard here but Cena keeps moving and retains side control.
Cena taking a break here but Dirt is having none of it and regains half guard.
Cena wants to stand up but Dirt manages to regain full guard.

Dirt is adopting a defensive guard.
Cena wants to control from the top but Dirt keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Cena was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Cena shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dirt sprawls well. Dirt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cena gets slowly back to his feet.
Cena is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cena rushes Dirt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dirt changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cena fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dirt. Cena does a little dance to reset his feet.

Dirt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dirt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cena prevents Dirt from taking his back.

Dirt wants to finish this one by submission but Cena is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dirt.
Dirt connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Cena defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dirt.
Cena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dirt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dirt prevents Cena from getting the reversal.
Dirt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cena is looking to escape.
Cena can't escape the position.

Dirt with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dirt is working for a guillotine from mount but Cena frees his head quite easily.

Dirt jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cena manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dirt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cena has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dirt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Cena's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cena tries to buck Dirt off but Dirt is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dirt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dirt shoots for a takedown but Cena saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A swing and a miss from Dirt.
Dirt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cena is fending him off so far but Dirt persists. Nope, Cena circles away and we're back to standing.
Dirt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Dirt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dirt doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cena counters with a right hand to the body.
Cena slips a straight right by Dirt.
Cena shoots in looking for a takedown but Dirt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cena's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Dirt feints and as Cena raises his hands in defense, Dirt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Dirt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cena is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dirt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cena after a bit of a struggle.

Dirt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Dirt.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dirt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
