Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Vladislav!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Andrew!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vladislav changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Andrew looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Andrew is looking to reverse the position.
Vladislav scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Andrew to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Andrew is not content to let Vladislav control the position.

Vladislav stands up.
Vladislav fails with a takedown attempt.

Vladislav shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vladislav was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Andrew is looking to improve his position but Vladislav isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vladislav cracks Andrew with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Andrew is squirming around, avoiding Vladislav's attempts to control the action.

Andrew is in a horrible position here. Vladislav smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Vladislav takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Andrew tries to break free.
Andrew turns into Vladislav and is now in his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vladislav holds on and takes a little breather.
Vladislav is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vladislav is looking to take a break and control but Andrew is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Andrew won't allow Vladislav to pass to mount.
Andrew is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Vladislav is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andrew is just riding it out for now. Vladislav eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Andrew is looking for a sweep. Vladislav is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Andrew looks gassed!

Vladislav is looking for a kimura but Andrew is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vladislav to get the leverage.
Andrew is looking to improve his position.

Vladislav is working for a kimura but Andrew is defending it quite comfortably.
Vladislav working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Vladislav wants to pass the guard but Andrew is defending well.

Vladislav is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Andrew doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vladislav.

Vladislav feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Andrew is controlling an arm, preventing Vladislav from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Vladislav is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Andrew defends it well.
Andrew is not content to let Vladislav control the position.

Vladislav stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Andrew to get to his feet.

Vladislav shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Andrew as he jumps to the side.
Vladislav shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Andrew pinned against the cage. Andrew gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Vladislav goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Andrew has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vladislav but great work by Andrew.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Vladislav closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andrew to the mat! Andrew manages to get full guard.
Igor Vladislav overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Andrew can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vladislav controls the pace.

Vladislav postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Andrew is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vladislav, into his guard.

Vladislav is really struggling to control Andrew but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Vladislav is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Andrew dives into side control.

Andrew is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vladislav is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Andrew takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Andrew looks to land a body kick but Vladislav moved away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vladislav avoids the head kick by Andrew.

Vladislav works his foot free and advances to mount.
Vladislav trying to control but Andrew is having none of it.
Vladislav is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Vladislav shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vladislav was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vladislav is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Andrew has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Andrew!

Vladislav looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Andrew wants to stand but Vladislav has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Vladislav working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andrew doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andrew manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Andrew tries to free his leg and advance position but Vladislav is retaining full guard.
Kyle Andrew has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vladislav lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Andrew!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vladislav, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
