Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikka Kinnunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Scene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikka Kinnunen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mikka Kinnunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charlie Scene!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinnunen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Scene fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Scene manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kinnunen on his heels. He'll look to pass Kinnunen's guard now, I'm sure.
Scene stands up over Kinnunen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Scene drops back looking for a leg! Kinnunen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kinnunen manages to kick Scene off! Scene jumps back into Kinnunen's guard.

Scene stands and steps away. Kinnunen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kinnunen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Charlie Scene has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kinnunen.
Scene will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Charlie Scene seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scene dives in and scores a takedown into Kinnunen's guard.
Scene has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Scene drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scene jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Scene stands and throws Kinnunen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scene trying to control the position but Kinnunen is working away.
Kinnunen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Scene wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kinnunen taking punishment in the form of punches.
Kinnunen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scene on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Kinnunen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Scene cracks Kinnunen with a big elbow.
Kinnunen is breathing heavily.

Scene tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scene working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Scene has an Americana. Kinnunen didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Scene is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Scene hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
