The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall throws a head kick but Maka moves out of range.
Hall misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maka is defended easily by Hall.
Hall misses with a lunging right hand

and Maka counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hall is staying active underneath Maka, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Maka thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Maka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Maka is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hall is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
