PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Saraiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nova Uniao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nova Uniao told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uniao closes the distance and pushes Saraiva back into the cage.
Saraiva lands an elbow inside that Uniao shrugs off.

It looks like Nova Uniao has been cut.
Saraiva working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Saraiva creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Uniao drops down looking for an ankle pick but Saraiva pulls his leg out and moves away.
Uniao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Saraiva.
Uniao feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Saraiva's calf.
Uniao lands a nice looking body shot.
Uniao uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saraiva.
Saraiva ducks under a wild hook from Uniao.

Saraiva has closed the distance and engaged Uniao in a clinch.
Uniao misses with a hook to the ribs.

Uniao is trying to pull guard but Saraiva has him pressed against the cage.
Gabriel Saraiva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nova Uniao.

Saraiva lands a vicious elbow to the side of Uniao's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Saraiva tries to finish him with strikes but Uniao still seems able to defend himself so Saraiva steps back and lets Uniao get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Uniao is rocked!

Saraiva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Uniao is still on wobbly legs! Can Saraiva finish him?

Saraiva lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Uniao to his knees! Saraiva keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
