The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins ducks under a wild hook from Halen.

Halen forces Jenkins back against the cage and clinches.
Jenkins is looking to break free of the clinch but Halen has double underhooks.
Jenkins tries to score a body lock takedown but Halen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Halen wants to improve his position but Jenkins is controlling well.
Jenkins uses his free foot to push down on Halen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Halen.
Halen is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jenkins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Halen is looking to escape.

Halen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jenkins is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Halen can't fight it off and eventually Jenkins manages to take the fight to the floor. Halen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Halen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Halen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jenkins manages to get himself to full guard.

Halen wants to control but Jenkins is keeping him busy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
