Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cliff Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Wadelin!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wadelin connects with the punch.
Henderson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wadelin swivels and escapes.
Wadelin dives in and grabs Henderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Henderson pushes down on Wadelin's head and hops out.
Wadelin misses with a wild combination.
Wadelin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Henderson circles away quickly and effectively.
Wadelin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Cliff Henderson has been cut.

Wadelin pushes Henderson up against the cage in a clinch.
Henderson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Wadelin's defenses.


It looks like Stephen Wadelin has been cut.
Henderson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wadelin fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sloppy strikes from Wadelin. Those never looked like landing.
Wadelin slaps away a takedown attempt from Henderson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cliff Henderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Henderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wadelin's waist but Wadelin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Henderson off to one side.
Henderson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wadelin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wadelin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wadelin tries to keep at a distance but Henderson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wadelin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wadelin wants to break free but Henderson has control.
Wadelin blocks the elbow strike.
Henderson is looking for a takedown.

Henderson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Wadelin regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Henderson throwing strikes from guard but Wadelin blocks nicely.
Wadelin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Henderson is controlling him.
Wadelin is trying to keep Henderson in close.

Henderson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wadelin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wadelin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wadelin!

Wadelin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wadelin fails to land with a series of punches.
Henderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wadelin swinging wildly here.
Wadelin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Henderson is fending him off so far but Wadelin persists. Nope, Henderson circles away and we're back to standing.
Wadelin looks winded!
Wadelin fails with the takedown.
Wadelin misses with a series of wild punches.
Stephen Wadelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wadelin looks to land a combination but Henderson avoids it well.

Henderson clinches with his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Henderson wants a takedown.
Wadelin wants to break free but Henderson has control.
Henderson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Henderson wants to take the fight to the mat but Wadelin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Wadelin fails to pull guard.
Wadelin can't break the clinch.
Wadelin is trying to break the clinch but Henderson has him pressed against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Henderson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Wadelin gets underhooks to prevent Henderson's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Wadelin dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Henderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wadelin tries to kick Henderson off but Henderson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Henderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Wadelin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wadelin pushes Henderson off looking to stand but Henderson dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cliff Henderson just wasn't active enough.

Henderson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Henderson pushing down on Wadelin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Wadelin is breathing heavily.

Henderson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wadelin is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cliff Henderson!
A relieved looking Cliff Henderson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
