Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hermes Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercury misses with a takedown
and Nelson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mercury's guard now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nelson is looking to pass into half guard but Mercury pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mercury is in guard.
Mercury trying to control the position from guard on top but Nelson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mercury is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Mercury wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
Mercury is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hermes Mercury was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mercury wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
A head kick misses from Mercury.
Nelson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Mercury.
Mercury misses with a takedown attempt
and Nelson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mercury won't be happy with that.
Gunnar Nelson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hermes Mercury.
You can see the frustration on Mercury's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Nelson cracks Mercury with a big right hand but Mercury just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nelson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mercury to his feet.
Hermes Mercury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mercury tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mercury checks the leg kick.
Mercury misses with the combination.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mercury enables Nelson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mercury manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mercury is looking for a triangle but Nelson pushes his legs off easily.
Nelson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nelson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nelson swings around for an armbar but Mercury sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nelson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mercury looking to sit in guard and control but Nelson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nelson wants to pass the guard but Mercury is keeping the position.

Nelson tries to free his leg and advance position but Mercury is retaining full guard.
Nelson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nelson pushing down on Mercury's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nelson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mercury defend it? Nelson steps over the head and cranks it - Mercury is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Nelson!
