Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ebenezer Scrooge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Severn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ebenezer Scrooge!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Scrooge, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scrooge scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Scrooge swings for the body but Severn moves out of range.
Severn is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scrooge.
Severn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Scrooge throws a sloppy head kick and Severn moves out of range easily.
Scrooge misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scrooge avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scrooge lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Severn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Scrooge throws a head kick but Severn moves out of range.
Scrooge shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Severn defends it nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scrooge enables Severn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scrooge manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Scrooge is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Severn is aware though and is defending well.

Severn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Scrooge has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Severn looking for a guillotine from mount but Scrooge is having none of it.

Severn is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Scrooge has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Scrooge!
Scrooge wants to control from the top but Severn keeps moving.

Severn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Scrooge is aware though and is defending well.

Scrooge is looking to work some ground and pound but Severn has wrist control.
Severn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Severn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Severn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scrooge can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scrooge throws a big right hand that misses.
Scrooge wants to stand but Severn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Severn working for a triangle but Scrooge defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Severn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scrooge gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Scrooge wants to pass the guard but Severn is keeping the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Severn keeping moving, preventing Scrooge from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ebenezer Scrooge will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Severn stuffs the takedown attempt from Scrooge. Scrooge gets slowly back to his feet.
Scrooge looks to land a left hand but Severn moved out of range nicely.
Scrooge works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Scrooge tries for a takedown but Severn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Scrooge misses.
Ebenezer Scrooge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scrooge misses with the combination.
Severn needs to keep his hands up - Scrooge had a free shot at his head there.
Scrooge scores with the left hand. Severn knows he should have avoided that one.
Scrooge moves to clinch but Severn breaks away

and Severn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Severn is pressing down on Scrooge's thigh, looking to free his foot. Scrooge is holding on for now.

Severn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Severn is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Scrooge!
Severn lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Scrooge keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Scrooge holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Severn tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Severn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Severn looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Severn wants to control but instead Scrooge manages to regain half guard.

Severn is looking to take a break and control but Scrooge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Severn blocks the strikes from Scrooge.
Severn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scrooge does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Severn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Severn seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Scrooge has recovered full guard.

Severn looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Scrooge is trying to keep Severn in close.
Severn trying to control but Scrooge is working from the bottom.
Dan Severn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Severn passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's time! Severn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Scrooge moves in looking to clinch but Severn pushes him off.
Scrooge lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Scrooge throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Severn is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scrooge.
Scrooge pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Severn shoots in but Scrooge avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Severn has a takedown stuffed.
Scrooge scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Severn takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice shot by Scrooge.
Severn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scrooge sprawls well. Scrooge wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Severn gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Severn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Severn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Scrooge on his heels. He'll look to pass Scrooge's guard now, I'm sure.

Dan Severn seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
