Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Lidae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lidae has chosen Lighters as his entrance music. Steven Lidae struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 207.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Steven Lidae has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Doom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Lidae!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lidae is looking to score with low kicks.
Doom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lidae moves away.
Lidae has his takedown stuffed
and Doom counters with a nice leg kick.
Lidae misses with a takedown attempt - Doom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lidae shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doom but Doom pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dave Doom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Lidae.
Lidae moves out of range of the strikes.
Steven Lidae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lidae slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lidae shoots for a double leg takedown but Doom sprawls well. He's pushed Lidae's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lidae tries to clinch up but Doom circles away and keeps his distance.
A big right from Lidae misses.
Lidae attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Lidae takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lidae looks winded!
Doom bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doom's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lidae under the eye.
Lidae is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Doom lands with a thumping leg kick.
Doom scores with a nice body kick.
Lidae takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Doom lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Doom turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doom scores with a head kick. Lidae tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Steven Lidae has been cut.
Doom moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Lidae goes down! Can Doom finish him!?
Lidae is rocked!
Doom lands a couple of digs.
Lidae is still in real trouble! Can Doom finish him?
Doom looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doom postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Lidae covers up, he's hurt! Doom keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Doom and the ref steps in to end the fight! Doom can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Doom!
A relieved looking Dave Doom thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
