PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hudson Levine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Levine has chosen Parkway Drive - Carrion as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshida avoids the head kick by Levine.
Levine lands with a nice body kick.
Levine with a jab.
Yoshida fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Levine has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hudson Levine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Levine lands a nice looking kick to the body. Yoshida takes a step back to recover.
Yoshida scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A head kick misses from Levine.
A telegraphed right hand from Levine misses the target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yoshida looking for a guillotine here but Levine defends easily.
Yoshida is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Yoshida throwing shots but Levine is blocking nicely.

Yoshida seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Levine won't allow Yoshida to pass to mount.

Levine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Yoshida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Levine manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yoshida manages to get himself to full guard.
Yoshida has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Yoshida tries to strike from the bottom.
Levine working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Levine keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yoshida's head.
Levine throws a strike but Yoshida rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Yoshida looking to sit in guard and control but Levine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Levine has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Yoshida to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Levine is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Yoshida pulls down on the head and he's put Levine to sleep! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Ken Yoshida thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
