Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Newton Grabapple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Newton Grabapple!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grabapple sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Grabapple as he jumps to the side.
A jab from Grabapple does it's job there.
Good shot there by Grabapple.
Grabapple will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz throws a head kick but Grabapple moves out of range.

Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Grabapple has taken the fight into the clinch.

Grabapple pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grabapple lands a body shot.
Diaz scores with a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A left lands for Grabapple.
A head kick misses from Diaz.

Grabapple has managed to clinch.
Grabapple throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Grabapple escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Grabapple has taken the fight to the clinch.

Diaz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Diaz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Grabapple's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Grabapple scoring with punches to the head and body.
Grabapple is looking to work some ground and pound but Diaz has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grabapple is posturing up here but Diaz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Grabapple tries to roll out but it's too tight and Grabapple has to tap! Slick submission there by Diaz!
