The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith clinches with his opponent.
Smith has a couple of punches blocked by Markov.
Smith tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Markov lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Smith tries to land knees in the clinch but Markov avoids the damage to the body.
Markov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Smith prevents it.
Markov is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Smith pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Markov goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maxim Markov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Markov throws a right and a left that both miss.
A solid leg kick lands there for Markov.

and Smith counters with a crisp one two that drops Markov! Smith thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Markov to his feet! Markov is in big trouble!

Smith cracks Markov's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Markov slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Smith can do further damage! This one is done, son!
