The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Thory tries a head kick but it misses.
Nunes throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Thory lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Thory dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nunes moves out of range of the strikes.
Thory takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Thory chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nunes can pounce on him.
Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nunes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Nunes counters with a big head kick but Thory shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nunes throws out a loose jab but Thory uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thory tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nunes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thory takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Thory uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nunes.

Nunes tries to land a front kick but Thory steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nunes backs away from a small jab... but Thory lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Nunes crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Thory with a spectacular finish!
