PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christian Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Peacock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christian Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Peacock!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peacock needs to keep his hands up - Kane had a free shot at his head there.
Peacock walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fighters circling - Kane throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peacock.
Peacock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kane. Peacock does a little dance to reset his feet.

Peacock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kane.
Kane can't break the clinch.
Kane is leaning against Peacock and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Peacock has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kane after a bit of a struggle.
Peacock tries to pull guard but Kane forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Christian Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Peacock.
Kane blocks an elbow strike.
Kane lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Peacock backwards.
Kane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Peacock tries for a takedown. No joy.
A right hand to the body from Kane.
A hook to the body from Kane.
Kane lands a hook that snaps the head of Peacock backwards.
Peacock is trying to force a seperation but Kane has the dominant position.
Kane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A short uppercut from Kane.
Kane lands a shot to the body.
Kane lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Peacock.
Kane tries to break the clinch but Peacock is controlling the position.
Peacock is trying to maintain a safe position but Kane gets an underhook and turns Peacock into the cage.
Peacock misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kane gets underhooks to prevent Peacock's takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kane will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Peacock up against the cage.
Kane stops a takedown attempt from Peacock.
Peacock looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kane lands with a light punch inside.
Peacock takes a shot to the head.

Kane breaks the clinch.
Kane connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kane clinches.
A shot in the inside from Kane.

Peacock is rocked!

Kane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peacock is still on wobbly legs! Can Kane finish him?
Kane drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Peacock's head, knocking him out cold! Kane is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
