PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between B.J.J. Baracus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hanlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). J.J. Baracus and Mark Hanlon. Baracus comes to the cage accompanied by Zealots - The Fugees. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, B.J.J. Baracus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Hanlon!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baracus looks to land a body kick but Hanlon moved away.
Hanlon throws a solid leg kick but Baracus takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hanlon.
Hanlon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Baracus misses with a body kick.
Baracus avoids the head kick by Hanlon.

Hanlon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Baracus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Baracus is trying to control the position but Hanlon postures up.
Hanlon passes Baracus's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Baracus wants to improve his position but Hanlon is controlling well.
Baracus wants to control but Hanlon is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hanlon connects with a nice short shot to Baracus's temple.


It looks like B.J.J. Baracus has been cut.
Hanlon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hanlon is looking to advance position but Baracus won't allow it.
Hanlon works his way into full mount!
Baracus tries to lock up and control but Hanlon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Baracus could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hanlon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Baracus hang on?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hanlon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Baracus manages to avoid the submission attempt.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baracus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hanlon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hanlon works to advance to full mount. Baracus defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

B.J.J. Baracus's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at B.J.J. Baracus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mark Hanlon!
