Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haiki Masatupo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Funke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to never gonna stop. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masatupo misses with a takedown attempt - Funke sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Funke shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Funke was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masatupo is trying to escape the mount.

Masatupo is rocked!
Funke postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Masatupo badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Funke around the waist but Funke pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Funke is the winner by TKO! Funke jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cody Funke!
An out of breath Cody Funke thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
